Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 4 August 2026
These terms apply to the purchase of tickets for the AI Open House on 25 September 2026 at FHNW Campus Dreispitz, Dornacherstrasse 394, 4053 Basel.
1. Organiser and contracting party
The organiser and your contracting party for every ticket is:
Schurbox GmbH, Drosselstrasse 1e, 4103 Bottmingen, Switzerland (CHE-172.497.522) Email: connect@ai-open-house.ch
The AI Open House is a joint initiative of several companies and is not itself a legal entity; Schurbox GmbH acts as the representative of the group.
2. Conclusion of contract
Tickets are sold through Infomaniak Ticketing (Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias, Switzerland). The contract for the ticket is concluded between you and Schurbox GmbH once the order is confirmed and the amount is charged. Infomaniak’s own terms apply in addition to the payment processing and the operation of the sales platform.
Relationship to Infomaniak’s terms: Infomaniak’s terms govern the sales platform and the payment. For the contract about the event itself — in particular returns, transfer, programme changes, cancellation and admission — these terms prevail wherever the two texts differ.
3. Tickets, prices and what they include
The following tickets are offered:
- Day ticket — CHF 20.—: admission to the event on 25 September 2026, to all sessions in rooms A, B and C, to the marketplace, and to the networking apéro afterwards.
- Day ticket & lunch — CHF 30.—: the above, plus a sandwich lunch during the barcamp at 12:00.
Schurbox GmbH is not registered for VAT; no value added tax is charged on these prices. The prices shown are final. Any sales-platform fees are shown during the order process.
One ticket admits one person. Lunch is tied to the corresponding ticket; if it is not taken there is no right to a refund or a substitute.
4. Changes to the programme
The programme is put together on a rolling basis and updated on this website. Individual sessions, speakers, times and rooms may change. The ticket entitles you to attend the event, not a particular session. Changes to the programme do not give rise to a refund.
5. Returns, exchanges and transfer
Tickets are not taken back and not refunded. Under Swiss law there is no statutory right of withdrawal for dated event tickets.
Tickets are, however, freely transferable: if you cannot attend, pass the ticket to someone else. You do not need to tell us — whoever presents the ticket is admitted. No refund is given for non-attendance.
Each ticket admits one person once: the barcode is scanned at the entrance and is spent afterwards. If the same ticket is passed to several people, only the first to arrive is admitted.
6. Cancellation or postponement by us
If we have to cancel the event, we refund the full ticket price. This also applies where the cancellation is outside our control — for example official orders, loss of the venue, or illness.
If the event is postponed, your ticket remains valid for the new date. Anyone unable to attend the new date is refunded the ticket price on request. Further costs, such as travel or accommodation, are not reimbursed.
Refunds are made by the means used for payment. Sales-platform fees are borne by us.
7. Ticket format, admission and house rules
The ticket is valid on screen or printed — all that matters is a readable barcode. A paper printout is not required.
Doors open at 10:30 and the programme starts at 11:00. A mislaid ticket can be downloaded again at any time from Infomaniak’s confirmation email; there is no need for us to issue a replacement.
We reserve the right to refuse admission to, or remove from the event, anyone who substantially disrupts it or endangers or harasses others. The ticket price is not refunded in those cases. The house rules of the FHNW, as host of the venue, apply in addition.
8. Photography and filming
Photographs and video are taken at the event for documentation and communication. If you prefer not to appear, tell the organising team on site or contact connect@ai-open-house.ch. Details are set out in the privacy policy.
9. Liability
We are liable for damage arising from injury to life, body or health, and for intent and gross negligence, in accordance with the applicable law. Beyond that, liability is excluded to the extent the law permits.
No liability is accepted for items brought to the event. Participation in the sessions is at your own responsibility; the content presented is general in nature and does not replace professional advice.
10. Data protection
Which personal data we process in connection with tickets and the event is set out in the privacy policy. Payment data is processed exclusively by Infomaniak and never reaches our website.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of Schurbox GmbH in Bottmingen, unless mandatory statutory provisions — in particular those protecting consumers — provide for a different forum.
